Dean of Students Mission statement

Mission
The Dean of Students mission is to reinforce the lessons in the classroom of
respect for others, responsibility for personal actions and reverence for
education.
This is accomplished by challenging students to enhance their decision-making
skills resulting in their discovery of social and personal meanings of responsibility
and accountability. Learning is a life long process gained through success and
failure, experiences familiar and unfamiliar.
To aid that process within the student body the Dean of Students will take
advantage of teachable moments to redirect negative behavior through conflict
mediation, crisis management and fair even policy enforcement. The Dean of
Students will also be easily accessible and available to the students, faculty and
parents/guardians during regular school hours.
Outside of the student body the Dean of Students will seek input from and
communicate with the Faculty regarding evolving disciplinary proceedings as well
as notify and negotiate with parents/guardians concerning their student in order
to promote a safe learning environment.
