Actions in Progress
It is recognized that a multipaceted approach to problem of smoking was needed and several courses of actions have been proposed including:
1. Using an on-line blog to accomodate further group/community discussion
2.Addressing the sudents with a statement and appeal about public smoking
3, Learning more about and following the state ligislatures consideration of banning public smoking
4. Learning more about post-treatment psycology of the student addict
5. Contacting our community service officer about addressing underage smoking at the bus stop
6. Further invetigating cessation related educational materials and programs.
7. Engaging student council or other means to nvlve the student body in this initiative
Action points are as initiailly outlined below in EAK mesasge of February 10, 2007 3:45 PM. . EAKI will carry items #1&3. Christina has #2 , earliest next week. Diane has #5,sometime after the students are addressed and response is evaluated. Hazeldine info you bring up is under #6 which needs someone to carry it. #4 & 7 had no clear assignment. Everyone needs to take a part of this and carry it forward. Once I get the blog going, I will enable everyone to contribute and ask for everyone's help in organizing and progressing this initiative.
