One thing we are asking from our beloved community (that’s you) is to help provide
dessert. I am including a recipe for a fruit crumble which could be delivered to the church on
Friday, Feb. 9. If it is not easy for you to whip this together, we would also
gratefully accept a bakery or store-bought cake. The cake should be somewhat simple (no bright
frosting or sprinkles or sponge-bob. . .you get the idea). This will help with food
preparation, expenses, and logistics. If you are able to help with the dessert, please
email me (acrampton@visi.com) to let me know. Thank you one million times.

Anne Crampton, on behalf of the Food Committee and the Faculty

P.S.
Here’s the recipe:
Apple Oatmeal Crisp
(any fruit crisp recipe will do, if you have a favorite)

4 cups sliced tart cooking apples (around 6 apples)
2 teaspoons lemon juice
3-4 tablespoons sugar
1 cup rolled oats (either old-fashioned or quick-cooking)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup flour
5 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Pinch of salt

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
2. Place apples in a greased shallow dish. One of those disposable aluminum 8 x 8
squares
or round pans would be good for this event, so you run no risk of losing your pan.
Sprinkle
apples with lemon juice and sugar.
3. Combine the remaining ingredients and sprinkle them over the apples. Bake for
about 30
minutes, or until apples are tender
